Prior to July 1, 2004, the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) was known as the Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI). The institute name has not been changed in historical data sets or references to work completed by the Florida Marine Research Institute. The institute name has been changed in references to ongoing research, new research, and contact information.

The purpose was to identify locations of freshwater fish species that are listed as rare or imperiled based upon federal, state, FCREPA. and the Southeastern Fishes Council listings.

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:

In March 2014 GeoPlan obtained the data from the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC-FWRI)via email. The contact person was Mark Barrett (mark.barrett@myfwc.com). The data was in the following geographical coordinate system: GCS_NAD83_HARN, Units: Degrees. During the QA/QC process GeoPlan performed the following tasks. - Projected the data to FGDL Albers HPGN. - Uppercased all fields. - Added DESCRIPT field based on field COMMON. - Added FGDLAQDATE field based on the date GeoPlan received the data from the source. - Renamed the dataset from listedfishspecies_2013 to listed_fish_2013 - Corrected typo for 3 records in the field FWCSTATUS. The Crystal Darter was changed to T=Threatened instead of NA. Process Date: 20140311
