This data set contains golf course parcel data from 61 individual counties obtained through the state DOR 2003 tax data. Data is available statewide with the exception of six missing counties (Citrus, Franklin, Highlands, Sumter, Suwannee, and Washington).

GeoPlan relied on the integrity of the attribute information within the original data.

These are golf course parcels derived from the 2003 Department of Revenue parcel data. Currently the YR_BUILT field is populated with the EFFYR field (effective year) from the original parcel data.

A note concerning data scale: Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasetsare not suitable for some project, analysis, or modelling purposes. Please be sure you are using the best available data. 1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the county level. 1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such as property parcel boundaries. 1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the multi-county or regional level. 1:250000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the regional or state level or larger. Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data before using it for projects or analyses. DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:

GeoPlan used the available 61-county 2003 parcel tax data records gathered from the State Department of Revenue (DOR) to create the parks parcel shapefile. Parcels were selected based on their use-code value. The use-code of '38' Golf course' were selected out. The data set contains the final selections from the original dataset with selected fields removed and Socio-Cultural Effect fields and attribute definitions added. - Reprojected to Albers HPGN from State Plane 1983 - Added a DESCRIPT field based on USE_TYPE Process Date: 20030000
