FEATURE ATTRIBUTE TABLES CODES AND VALUES:

Item
Item Description
OBJECTID Internal feature number.

SITE_ID Unique identifier of a site generated by CERCLIS at each Region.

EPA_FAC_ID A code that uniquely identifies each site or facility.

SITE_NAME The official site name for a hazardous waste site or an unanticipated removal (incident). The official name can be the one used in the federal register at the time of the National Priorities List (NPL) proposal or, for sites not on the NPL, designated by the Region.

ADDRESS The first line of the street address, route number, or other specific identifier of the physical location of the site or incident.

CITY The city of the physical location of the site or incident.

COUNTY The county of the physical location of the site or incident.

STATE The state of the physical location of the site or incident.

ZIP Code that identifies the U.S. Postal Service delivery area in which the site is located or incident occurs.

SITE_SMSA Code for the standard metropolitan statistical area in which the site is located or the incident occurred.

FED_FACIL Code to indicate whether a site is a Federal facility.

NPL_STATUS Code to indicate the site's National Priorities List (NPL) status (proposed for NPL or currently on the final NPL).
DELETED FROM NPL = EPA may delete a final NPL site if it determines that no further response is required to protect human health or the environment.

ON FINAL NPL = Sites are first proposed to the National Priorities List (NPL) in the Federal Register. EPA then accepts public comments on the sites, responds to the comments, and places on the NPL those sites that continue to meet the requirements for listing.

PROPOSED FOR NPL = Sites that have been proposed to the National Priorities List (NPL) in the Federal Register.

LATITUDE Site latitude in decimal degrees.

LONGITUDE Site longitude in decimal degrees.

FGDLAQDATE The date FGDL acquired the data (i.e. downloaded, etc.).

DESCRIPT FGDL added item based on SITE_NAME.

SHAPE Feature geometry.

AUTOID Unique ID added by GeoPlan

Inclusion of a site on the NPL does not in itself reflect a judgment of the activities of its owner or operator,
it does not require those persons to undertake any action, nor does it assign liability to any person. The
NPL serves primarily informational purposes, identifying for the States and the public those sites or other
releases that appear to warrant remedial actions.

GeoPlan relied on the integrity of the attribute information within
the original data.

The National Priorities List (NPL) is a published list of U.S. hazardous waste sites that are eligible for
extensive, long-term cleanup under the Superfund program. Congress established the Superfund
Program in 1980 to clean up waste sites. Superfund is administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) in cooperation with individual states and tribal governments. Superfund locates, investigates
and cleans up hazardous-waste sites throughout the country. Superfund cleanups are complex and require
the skills of experts in science, engineering, public health, management, law, community relations and other
fields. Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) who contributed to the pollution are contacted and involved in
the cleanup. Members of the community and potential owners are informed of the process and invited to
comment. All interested parties, including EPA, are called stakeholders. Superfund's ultimate goal is to protect
you and your environment from the effects of hazardous wastes.

This boundary information was developed as one component of the Office of Emergency and Remedial
Response (OERR) National Priority List Site Coordinate Quality Assurance and Digitizing project undertaken
in 1992 with the EPA's Environmental Photographic Interpretation Center (EPIC).

The National Priority List (NPL) sites do have latitude and longitude data accurate to within 30 meters and, in some cases, in the sub-meter range.

The latitude and longitude for other sites is the centroid of the ZIP code area for the ZIP code of the site's address.

This data is provided 'as is' and its vertical positional accuracy has not been verified by GeoPlan

THE DATA INCLUDED IN FGDL ARE 'AS IS' AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED
AS LEGALLY BINDING. THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA GEOPLAN CENTER SHALL
NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES SUFFERED AS A RESULT OF USING,
MODIFYING, CONTRIBUTING OR DISTRIBUTING THE MATERIALS.

A note about data scale:

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data.

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been
made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional
information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact
section of this documentation. For more information regarding
scale and accuracy, see our webpage at:
