This dataset is a polyline feature class representing the Watershed Monitoring Program's Flowing Waters (Rivers, Streams, and Canals) resource coverages across the State of Florida. Refer to https://floridadep.gov/dear/watershed-monitoring-section/content/status-monitoring-networkfor more information on the Status Monitoring Network. This dataset is an update to the FGDL layer FLOW_WATERS_RSRC_DEC19.
The purpose of this layer is to represent the flowing waters coverage at the end of the year and reflect removal of excluded features and additions of features during that year. The resulting coverage therefore represents the base layer from which selections for the Status Network rivers, streams, and canals will be made in the following year.

Features with the geodatabase feature class "Flowing Waters" are reviewed to remove very small dangles or zero length lines to avoid problems in representation at various scales.
The features within the geodatabase feature class are reviewed for omissions.
Updated data obtained from Watershed Monitoring Section and updated the same in SDE/DataMiner. Metadata updated.

The base coverage for rivers, streams, and canals were locationally compared with the 2014 coverages submitted for the GRTS selection process to ensure only those features that were used as a basis for selection are represented in the updated years coverage. Features that were excluded as wrong resource were removed from the 2014 coverage for rivers, streams, and canals. A template of the current schema for the DEP.WMS_LAKES_RESOURCE was copied from the SDE and then features contained within the "Flowing Waters" feature class within the Listframe geodatabase were filtered for non-excluded river, stream, and canal objects which were then loaded into the template. The feature class was then exported to a shapefile and metadata were added to the shapefile prior to submitting to the GIS Librarian for processing the new coverage to the SDE.
