The Railroad Crossing feature class shows at-grade crossings of railroads and roadways as derived from event mapping Feature 253, characteristics CHKDIGIT and RRCROSNO from the FDOT Roadway Characteristics Inventory data. This data represents the information collected and reported as of the most recent inventory performed and may not reflect the current conditions.
The FDOT GIS Railroad Crossing feature class provides spatial information on existing railroad crossing at grade level. The database only consists of railroads that cross with the roadways that are maintained in FDOT's RCI (Roadway Characteristic Inventory).

Specific instructions, created by FDOT, their consultants, and the GeoPlan Center, were carried out. The data set is then to be updated on a regular basis. The data was originally in UTM Zone 17, Nad83, units meters. -RCI_RAIL_XING buffered by 100 feet -Dissolved -Added DESCRIPT field and calculated record to "RCI_RAIL_XING" -Added FGDLAQDATE based on when source data downloaded from source
