Students
Step 1: Sign INTO AGOL with YOUR GatorLink credentials
Sign into AGOL with your GatorLink username and password:
http://ufl.maps.arcgis.com > click Sign In > choose “University of Florida” > enter GatorLink Credentials
This will automatically give you AGOL access with the “user” role and a credit budget of 1000.
Step 2: ASK TO Have your role elevated
Ask your instructor to upgrade you to the Students role.
You will need to provide them with your username, which should be your gatorlink username + _ufl. After you are elevated, you will unlock AGOL features that allow you to spend credits.
Instructors
- Create an ArcGIS Online login for yourself using your Gatorlink credentials. Go to:
http://ufl.maps.arcgis.com > click Sign In > choose “University of Florida” > enter GatorLink Credentials - Have your role elevated. After you have logged into AGOL at least once, ask your campus unit point of contact to elevate you to the Instructor role. If you are not sure who your Point of Contact is, then please contact GeoPlan.
- After your role is elevated, you can invite your students and give them access (see common tasks below).
Common agol Tasks for instructors
If you are an instructor, but have not created an AGOL login for yourself, then please see the steps above.
- Ask the student to create an ArcGIS Online login using their Gatorlink credentials. Have student do the following:
http://ufl.maps.arcgis.com > click Sign In > choose “University of Florida” > enter GatorLink Credentials This will automatically give the user AGOL access with the “user” role and a credit budget of 1000. - You now must elevate the students role. To unlock more AGOL features, we recommend elevating your students to the Students role. You will need to do the following:

- Ask the student to sign into AGOL at least once using instructions above.
- Grant access to ArcGIS Pro, by doing the following:
http://ufl.maps.arcgis.com > click Sign In > choose “University of Florida” > organization > Members > click ellipsis button > Manage add-on licenses > check ArcGIS Pro Advanced > choose extensions (always add spatial analyst, 3d analyst, network analyst, geostatistical analyst)

Notes:
- ArcGIS Pro must be installed on a UF owned computer if doing grant funded research, it may be installed on a personally owned computer if for educational purposes only.
- ArcGIS Pro can be installed on the same computer that ArcGIS 10.x is installed on, however, the licensing works completely differently than ArcGIS Desktop.
Use this process for Insights, GeoPlanner, Community Analyst, Business Analyst:
- User must have signed into AGOL at least once using instructions above.
- After this is done, the instructor should do the following:
http://ufl.maps.arcgis.com > click Sign In > choose “University of Florida” > organization > Members > click ellipsis button > Manage add-on licenses > check box next to appropriate Application
- User must have signed into AGOL at least once using instructions above.
- After this, have the user do the following:
https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/search/ > Sign In > Choose “Enterprise Login” > enter “ufl” > University of Florida > enter GatorLink Credentials
Researchers and Staff
- Create an ArcGIS Online login for yourself using your Gatorlink credentials. Go to:
http://ufl.maps.arcgis.com > click Sign In > choose “University of Florida” > enter GatorLink Credentials - Have your role elevated. After you have logged into AGOL at least once, ask your campus unit point of contact to elevate you to the Researcher role. After your role is elevated, you can access more AGOL features that allow you to spend credit.

Are you the Point of Contact for your Department, College or Unit?
If you are the Point of Contact for your unit, you will need an elevated AGOL login to perform administrative tasks for AGOL users in your campus unit. Please first create an AGOL login (using the above steps) and then please contact GeoPlan.
- Step 1) Ask the user to Create an ArcGIS Online login using their Gatorlink credentials. User should go to:
http://ufl.maps.arcgis.com > click Sign In > choose “University of Florida” > enter GatorLink Credentials. For researchers, we recommend elevating to the Researcher role and for students, the Students role. - Ask the user to sign into AGOL at least once using instructions above.
- Grant access to ArcGIS Pro, by doing the following:
